days in the life of a PhD student

Hello! This blog began as a way of documenting the ephemeral experience of doing a PhD. As I near the end of my research project, you’ll now find a mixture of sporadically updated scribbles on coffee, books, publishing, research and travel.

About me:

I’m an editor and researcher based in East London. Born in the same Parisian town as Claude Debussy, I grew up in rural North Wales and started out as a harpist.

I’m currently a full-time intern at Profile Books, a Reader for Granta Magazine, and I’m completing a doctorate degree at the University of Oxford. In the near future, I’m looking for an Editorial Assistant position on a non-fiction list at a trade publisher in London. Previously, I’ve undertaken internships at Oneworld Publications, Granta and HarperCollins, as well as founding the digital publication Noise & Silence.
