I offer students engaging, individually-catered harp lessons with a grounding in technique and theory, and an emphasis on developing personal musicality. I also teach music theory and piano. Students are welcome to have lessons on my full concert-sized Camac Élysée harp, or bring their own if they prefer.
I am an experienced harpist with a background in orchestral, chamber and solo playing. I was taught by Elinor Bennett in North Wales until the age of 18, during which time I was a harpist in the National Youth Orchestra of Wales (2006 & 2007), and recorded with Bryn Terfel for BBC TV. Whilst at Oxford, I received lessons from Sioned Williams in London (Principal Harpist at the BBC Symphony Orchestra). I was Principal Harpist in the Oxford University Orchestra, and performed with all other University ensembles during my undergraduate degree. In 2011 I was selected for the inaugural Oxford Opportunity Exchange Scheme with the Royal Academy of Music, where I had lessons with Karen Vaughan (Head of Harp at the RAM).
I have a Distinction in the ABRSM Diploma in Harp Performance, and a BA and Masters degree in Music from the University of Oxford. I’m also a member of the UK Harp Association. Alongside the harp, I have Grade 8 Piano and Grade 7 Practical Musicianship. My musicteachers.co.uk profile can be found here and my ENCORE page can be found here.
I am available for weddings and events on request. Please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information and pricing.
